Chaparral 2: Fully Restored
Owned by Chaparral Racing

Looking back at it now, the story of Jim Hall and his legendary
Chaparral race cars seems like a myth. Of the seven race cars built in
West Texas, only six survive to this day. They were hidden away for so
long that the Chaparral name might have been forgotten. Fortunately,
Chaparral Racing under the direction of Jim Hall, has set out to
restore the six cars.
Chaparral Racing was a small, efficient operation with the very
practical sense to upgrade a race car until it was something
completely different. During its active career, two of the original
three 2s had been turned into 2D coupes. One of those coupes and the
remaining Chaparral 2 were further evolved into the 2F.
Troy Rogers, one of the original craftsmen who helped Jim Hall and Hap
Sharp build and refine the white Road Runners, as they are known, has
brought them back to life. Today, the beautiful Chaparral 2 is
restored and looking exactly as she did when she stormed the race
tracks of the world! Well, there's one exception: the Firestone tires
that were originally used are no longer available, so the restored car
rolls on Goodyear rubber.
Thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of these gritty Texans, the
Chaparral legend lives on... not just in our memories. For special
occassions, Jim Hall brings a small selection of racers out to vintage
events where he is all too happy to sign autographs and demonstrate
what made his innovative cars so significant. And if you're travelling
in the Texas area, there will soon be a museum where you can catch a
glimpse of this most ferocious beast at rest.
