After several years and numerous track improvements, the German Grand Prix returned to it's spiritual home at the Nurburgring. Jackie Stewart's knowledge of the track helped him post the fastest qualifying time (7:19.0) and win the pole position. A flawless drive gave Stewart his fifth championship Grand Prix victory of the year. With our superb replica, we have captured the Tyrrell Ford 003 as it was the day it crossed the finish line at the German Grand Prix. Jackie Stewart also drove the 003 to victory at the 1971 Grand Prix of Spain, Monaco, France, Britain and Canada. This was a banner year for Team Tyrrell.
 
Jackie Stewart crowned his achievements of the year winning the driver's World Championship title and Team Tyrrell winning the Constructor's Championship. Stewart also won the 1972 Grand Prix of Argentina and France in chassis 003. He raced the car for most of the season before getting a new one for the Austrian Grand Prix in August of 1972.
